Eager, Experienced Account Manager

McCabe Message Partners—an award-winning, DC-based public relations agency specializing in health and the issues that affect it—seeks Account Manager candidates. We work with supportive clients on meaningful issues in a fast-paced, fun, challenging environment. Agency experience is a plus; a penchant for details is a must. Our clients include many of the nation’s leading foundations, medical societies, trade associations, academic institutions, and others.

Comprised of 28 team members, some of whom excelled in the healthcare practices of the nation’s largest PR firms, the agency combines the expertise and client roster of a national firm with the heart and soul of a boutique business. We seek creative, organized candidates with two to seven years of communications experience who have strong writing and presentation skills.

Typical projects include writing news releases, opinion-editorials, and blog posts; compiling comprehensive media lists and conducting targeted media pitching; managing digital content; overseeing the design of products; developing videos, podcasts and other visual media tools; conducting research to inform our work; and more.

Most importantly, the successful candidate will be high-energy and ready and willing to dive deeply into health and health policy, excel in juggling multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously, and enjoy working in a team-based environment.

Eager, Detail-Oriented Account Coordinator

Our clients include many of the nation’s leading healthcare philanthropies, medical organizations, trade associations and academic institutions.

Comprised of 28 team members, some of whom excelled in the healthcare practices of the nation’s largest PR firms, the agency combines the expertise and client roster of a national firm with the heart and soul of a small business. We seek high-energy candidates with demonstrated communications experience, which may include the successful completion of a communications internship, and exceptional organizational and time management skills. This position is perfect for someone who likes to juggle multiple assignments and pays extraordinary attention to details.

Typical projects include preparing targeted media lists, pitching media outlets, preparing media analyses and reports, conducting communications research, managing digital content, participating in team brainstorms, supporting events, and more.

Summer 2018 Health Communications Intern

McCabe Message Partners—an award-winning, DC-based public relations agency specializing in health and the issues that affect it seeks Summer 2018 Intern candidates. We work with supportive clients on meaningful issues in a fast-paced, fun, challenging environment. Our clients include many of the nation’s leading foundations, medical societies, trade associations, academic institutions, and others. Comprised of 28 team members, some of whom excelled in the healthcare practices of the nation’s largest PR firms, the agency combines the expertise and client roster of a national firm with the heart and soul of a boutique business.

Message Partners is looking for a paid, full-time intern to start by Monday, May 14, and end by Friday, August 17. We seek candidates who have exceptional organizational and time management skills, and a penchant for details. The possibility of your full-time employment with the agency after the successful completion of the internship may exist. Interns are vital members of account teams and participate in a variety of client-related activities. Responsibilities may include preparing targeted media lists, assisting in event planning and execution, conducting research, assisting in partnership development, monitoring coverage in national and local media, participating in brainstorms and providing administrative support. Message Partners interns gain valuable experience in media relations, partnership building and health policy, and often contribute to and provide support for major events and press conferences. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Prerequisites

  • Demonstrated experience or interest in communications and/or health policy
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to juggle multiple assignments
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills (a writing test may be administered at the time of the interview)
  • Ability to proofread a variety of materials quickly and effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable making phone calls
  • Ability and willingness to understand complex client topics and issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (including basic design, formatting and using formulas)
  • Proficiency in working with various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter)
  • Bachelor’s degree

Compensation

  • The position is full time – 40 hours a week at $14/hour; $560 a week
  • Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Unpaid leave for vacations, appointments, etc., can be arranged in advance
