Patrick McCabe
President
Patrick is a font of ideas.
For more than three decades, Patrick McCabe has designed successful, affordable strategies that reach policymakers, consumers, healthcare providers, educators and communities.
His ideas catapult issues onto the radar of national and local thought leaders. His work on the importance of affordable, accessible health insurance, for example, resulted in coverage in all the nation’s top 100 newspapers and appeared on every broadcast news network. He helped conceive and launch then-HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson’s “small steps” anti-obesity initiative. His work on the award-winning Choosing Wisely campaign changed how physicians and patients think about routine medical tests or procedures.
He has been published numerous times on topics including crisis management, user-tested message development, strategic communications planning, media relations and training, increasing communications capacity for nonprofits and others. He has won numerous industry awards.
Prior to opening McCabe Message Partners in 2016, Patrick co-founded GYMR Public Relations in 1998. Earlier, he was a vice president at Fleishman Hillard, a lobbyist and spokesperson for a health-related trade association, and an award-winning journalist in metropolitan Washington, D.C. Patrick graduated with high honors from the University of Notre Dame.
